1. Check the license status of the user involved. To check, go to https://admin.microsoft.com
a. Click “Users” on the right pane of the page.
b. Then click the “Active User”.
2. Search for the specific user. Click the user’s name to redirect you to the user’s information panel.
3. A pop-up pane will appear on the right side of the page.
4. Under the “License and apps” tab check the provided status.
a. The “Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise” should be checked. If not, follow the screenshot below.
b. If changes were made hit the “Save Changes” button
5. Next go to any office application and check if the user’s credentials are logged-in on the office application. You’ll know if the user’s credentials is already logged-in or not by looking at the upper right of the screen. A logged in user should appear like this (see screenshot below)
6. Assuming that there are no logged-in Microsoft credentials that causes the issue. Follow these steps to fully solve the issue.
7. Click the “Sign-in” button located on the upper right corner of the screen.
8. A window will appear asking you to enter the user’s 365 account.
9. After signing-in the user's credentials. Check the license status of the Microsoft Office Application. To check, click the “File” tab located in the upper left corner of the screen and click the “Account”. You should see the details below (red box) with updated microsoft license.
