Lexmark - Scan to Email Configuration - Gmail

This Article outlines the steps to set up the scan-to-email feature on a Lexmark printer that uses an embedded web server, allowing you to scan documents directly to your email.

Procedures:

Please allow less secure apps on gmail before completing the steps below. Sign in to your account > Manage Account > Security > Allow less secure app > ON

Configuring SMTP settings:

1. Open a web browser and enter the IP address of your Lexmark printer in the address bar to access the Embedded Web Server.
Note: There are times that you will be asked to sign in the admin account. If not, please proceed to the next step.

2. Under Settings, click Email and follow the below configuration below:
Note: this works with GMAIL accounts only.

Primary SMTP Gateway: smtp.gmail.com

Primary SMTP Gateway Port: 465

Secondary SMTP Gateway:

Secondary SMTP Gateway Port: 25

SMTP Timeout: 30

Reply Address:

Always use SMTP default Reply Address:

Use SSL/TLS: Required

Require Trusted Certificate:

SMTP Server Authentication: Login / Plain

Device-Initiated Email: Use device SMTP credentials

User-Initiated Email: Use device SMTP credentials

Use Active Directory Device Credentials:

Device User id:

Device Password:

SCAN: email/your_email_address/your_email_password/SMTP_server_address/SMTP_port

Kerberos 5 REALM:

NTLM Domain:

Disable 'SMTP server not set up' error:

4. Try the scan to email feature by going to the device dashboard. Press Email.

5. Select Address Book or you may type the email manually.

6. Press Scan. This should go to your email now.

Note: If the scan to email didn't work, there will be an output print stating the problem with the configuration. Feel free to contact Elate support if you need further assistance.
